Hi
Sorry for no updates etc, but I have taken a long break from the hobby. I think its just what I needed, I will however be coming back with my daemons (40K) as I miss the tourny scene and want to do a ToS @ Warhammer World. The only difference this time is I wont be committing as much man hours to the hobby and I will be buying next to nothing model wise.
BUT
I need help, I have decided to keep the mono god theme with Khorne - only I want to use converted counts as units for Plaguebearers, flamers of Tzeentchs etc.... I want them to be able to fit what the actual units do with a Khorne twist as it were.... any conversion ideas would be appreciated!
I want to take my time on stuff, but I also want to get cracking with some tournies as well so hopefully will start getting this blog off and going again!

New Bases - Jungle, No Snow!
Yo
Their was something bugging me about my Cryx army which is why I havent painted anymore until I could put my finger on what. After watching Pirates of the Caribbean, I realised what. I was making a pirate themed army on snow bases! The theme just wasent working so I decided to make this test base with a theme of jungle.
I searched the web and noticed people have been using aquarium plants. Now I wasent totally sold because they were not realistic looking enough. Went to a local aquarium shop and bought some general on offer plastic plants. I decided to paint them and use a variety of flocks... Im pleased now and will continue on with the minis!

iiiiiiit's Chriiiiiiiistmas!
Hi
Well, no not really, but look what mr Postman brought!
This is my 50pt Terminus list, with a couple of options. Im going to get another Warcaster and a few other units as alot of tourmies seem to require you to take more than one list. I will see how this Tier 4 pirate list fairs before I fully commit to another list. But Im really looking forward to getting this lot painted up.
This is what your looking at:

This is now matt varnished and based.... Im not to keen on the base and am waiting for Shane to point it out! I just think its a bit bland. Anyway Im pleased with how it's come out and cant wait to have a fully painted Cryx army. Hope you like.
Oh and got these cool skull beads to use as focus markers, very fitting for pirates!

My First Warmachine Paint job! WOOOYA
Yo
Really pleased with this, straight forward to paint.
And I learnt something - I HATE BATCH PAINTING
Painting my Orks was a really horrible battle of time management whereas this was a nice experience where I could pull the most of what I could do. I have found areas of improvement also which now serves as an incentive as opposed to the excuse of I have loads to paint - that's why its a bit shit...

Started my Starter set!! (Cryx)
I decided to use my new expensive airbrush with these... big mistake! The thing keeps clogging and thats with pure AB cleaner before I put any paint through it.
So I went back to my old one and adjusted the air pressure really low and layered the grey to white. I used the Vallejjo air paints... so easy not having to mix and using the dropper bottle to use exactly how much you need.
This is the base phase, I will be glazing with really thin coats of black ink or wash - not decided yet... would get more done but the weather is gorg, so drinking beer and sunning myself! lol
(I have a delivery coming in the next couple of days, Im soo excited! uh aaar me harties...)

Lich Lord Terminus! One Hell of a Metal Kit!!
Well what can i say, my first bit of hobbying for nearly 4 months! As you may have seen from my other posts I have been getting into Warmachine. Im really starting to get into this now and I think Im going to with a Terminus Tier list.... basically a controlled themed list to the non PP people. The theme - Undead Pirates... yup awesome!
Anyway this kit Terminus... I warn anyone this model is not for the faint hearted. You have to pin EVERYTHING! It has really small contact points in some places and its really heavy. This took me 5 hours to build in two installments. I used brush on super glue for maximum control and floristry wire for pins. The effort in my opinion was worth it, and actually the model is really welly balanced, I dont think it will topple over easily and actually seems really sturdy.
A lot of fiddly bitz!:
As you can see - a nice huge model! Well worthy!! I present Lich Lord Terminus!:
Just need to go round with some GS to fill some holes.
My Tier list looks like this, I may get some Bane thralls as well and swap out the Bloodgorgers....
50 pts
Lich Lord Terminus
Deathripper
Deathripper
Harrower
Leviathan
Blackbane's Ghost Raiders (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Bloodgorgers (Leader and 5 Grunts)
Revenant Crew (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Captain Rengrave
General Gerlak Slaughterborn
Next up this weekend is painting the starter set whilst watching the Grand Prix....

Can anyone comment on this Cryx list?
Yo!
I had my first taster game of Warmachine last night and having only ever played 40k and some spec games before was a massive move for me. I found the game in depth. You have a lot to remember with your own army. So I really want to know my first army like the back of my hand!
I have used the online army list maker (here) to make this list, with only a very basic knowledge of rules and fluff. I don't understand the tier system, but anywho this is tier 1!
I would like to have my list sorted so I can really get to know my army as I'm learning as I'm a pretty basic individual and it will help me use the army better.
I went for a pirate theme, but I preferred the look of the ghost raiders over the revenant crew. I'm down with pirates and I'm all for just picking an army you like the look of, but if you get a dud list it can be frustrating and costly in time and money. I'm sure I will adjust anyway and buy more things, but it would be nice to collect and paint this army as I learn - instead of the buy everything first. Also I guess if I'm not liking the way the army is heading I can change it without having to overhaul a load of minis... anywho less patter...
Terminus - The Ghost Fleet

Another Open Letter to GW (that I happen to agree with - its not to ranty)
Im not one for these kind of things, as I think if you dont like a product or whatever just dont buy etc, etc. But whats interesting is that what he is saying fits with what I am doing without me giving it to much thought. I have bought into WM, but really I have stopped buying much wargaming stuff generally because I dont like whats happening at GW. Mainly because I really only have time to play one system really which is 40k. And lets be honest it is a great system with a cool range of products. By cut down we are probably talking alot of money (up to 4 figures if Im brutely honest) as Im just completing what I have. When I have I will just use that and build my Cryx army... Its bad for the whole market not just gw as I cant see myself building the size of armies for WM as I did with 40k. I have ruled out doing WFB completely. Anyway, I'll stop the guy on the vid says it all really.
Oh I found this vid here on trueminiwargamer

I need a colour scheme!
Yo!
I have ordered the remaining Bloodcrushers I need to complete about 2K Khorne Daemons. I have decided that this is eventually going to be my tourny army Im going to use for some years to come.
Hulls Angels (my local club) are running a "Tale of the X Gamers" combined with a campaign. The idea you start off with 500pts and build up to 1750 in 250 installments. Great idea imo, I really want to get on board and get this army nailed.
You can find my list here "click" its a pretty hard hitting army, short on troop choice, but I have enough stuff to alter the list as I please... maybe add a bloodthirster - drop skulltaker, or drop a soul grinder etc etc.
My problem is why I have never really painted this army is I have never sat happy with a scheme. I dont want devil red skin, it looks to unrealistic imo, I know these are daemons, but I still want them to look like could be real...
Please be aware these are unfinished test pieces and in no way the finished article....
This is my fave.... need to lessen the blood and make it more "clotted"....
Next up are two variations on red. I have maybe gone to subtle and dark... actually I dont know, what I like the best tbh...
If you have any pointers or ideas I would be very grateful, nearly finished my gardening at the new house so will be getting on with these soon, if I could get 500pts done by the 21st July great, but i think im going to have to join this late and do 750pts by August. Will post my 500pt list tonight. I may have to make it so it has a low model count...
OH and I was tempted to get a Finecast Skulltaker to place on the chariot and use the metal one as a normal Skulltaker... but £15 GW? Seriously WTF??? more like Finecost not fine cast!

Where I'm at and App Game Wooo!
Just to let you know Im still here and I will be picking up the hobby again soon with my daemons. The club Hulls Angels is running a campaign based on the tale of X gamers where you build paint and play starting at 500pts building up to 1750. The first 500pts need to be ready by the 21st of July... Im really excited about it and should be a great way to get my stuff done. Im esp looking forward to painting this:
I think Im going to start with the FW herald as my HQ in the 500pts and take as many bloodletters as pos with a couple of BC... see how I get on. I think they wont be to competitive until 1K mark we shall see!
Also - remember the name a game topic, well, the game is up and running so thanks for everyone who voted on a name! check it out!

I moved, I have actually moved at last!!!!
A three month saga of decorating, putting the house on the market, the house selling on the first viewing not even being a day on the market, surveyor reports and finally the icing on the cake... my boiler breaking down a week before the move costing me a cool £1300 to get a new one installed!
Plenty of alcohol and sleepless nights and Im finally here...
I am yet to fully unpack my hobby gear and I have a few jobs to do over the next couple of months, so my blog may be still a bit slow until then.
After the last GW price increase I have decided to cease buying GW systems, so I'm going to focus on getting the armies I have painted, Daemons first then my CSM. Also I am planning an emo Escher gang and also building a small Warmachine Cryz force. I have the starter and the big metal warcaster guy that looks like an utter beatch to put together.
But here's to more gaming and more blogging!! (well soon at least!)

NAME A GAME - My work needs help!
This is non Warhammer related! Basically my work is branching out into the app world and has made a really cool game. The only problem is we are stuck on the name. We have narrowed it down to three and would really appreciate it if you could vote by following this link....

Quiet Times!
Just to let everyone know I will be not doing much hobbying over the next few months as we are hopefully moving. I wont be at the club much either, but the campaign is very easy for me to keep running, so that will still be going on and I should still find time to throw in exciting missions, senarios and bonus's.
On a side note my good friend Vorro/Nathan has just set up a blog and its well worth looking at - some of the best true-scaling on the web... so check this out.....

The UK 40K GT - Review and Pics Pt II
Here are some pics of my games:
First game I got mullered by a Seer Council on bikes, I could have done better I f I timed my Ghazza Nob Charge better... lost the core of them early on and never really recovered.
Second Game - Blood Angels, I won this one, manged to contest his objective at the end. Ghazza and his Nobz made him deploy his Death company on his objective to get them off, so he never got chance to unleash his armies potential.
3rd Game - Fateweaver daemons. I have very little experiance against this army and it was kill points. A mixture of not enough experience against this army and being out combated made for a wipeout against me! boooooo ;)
Pick me game against my bro before we hit the bar!
More of Ricky's Ad mechs...
I apologise to Brians army as the pics I took of the amazing freehand never came out! :( But still cool Khan UM army on bikes - very scary!
1st game on the sunday - BA home and away, we got a draw but traded objectives so at least we both tried!
Then two horrible losses after - I didnt take pics as I got tired!
Next batch is the army noms!

The UK40K GT - Review and Pics Pt I
Well what can I say, this is one of if not the best tournaments I have attended. Why? You ask. Was it because my list performed badly all weekend? - No. Was it the fact I finished 111th? Nope, it was the company, atmosphere and the well executed organisation.
The venue itself at Maelstrom is enough to compete with Warhammer World. It may not have as much bling, but it has a really authentic feel, great bar and excellent helpful non pushy staff. The store also opened until 1am (at least I think it was 1am) when we were turfed out! (fair enough!)
The actual scenery is better than Warhammer World itself. Maelstrom has invested more on GW scenery than GW, and its painted with much more care. Also there's some lovely steam punk terrain that is beautifully made and painted. My only crit is they have painted and flocked the boards all exactly the same, which is very well done but it would be nice to have some variation.
I preferred the food as well - the canteen food at GW is, well, canteen food and makes 130 gamers flatulent! Buffet lunch on the sat, Lancashire hotpot for the evening meal washed down with a jam roly poly. Sunday a baked potato with cheese beans... all honest food.
I also made some great new friends as well as catching up with previous friends made on the tournament scene.
I would like to thank the organisers and staff at Maelstrom for a great weekend.
The pictures below are of the friday where my bro and me started the weekend with some games and where we made friends with Ricky Simms... and lead to some good banter for the weekend. A big up to Bryan Crew for making the trip from the USA via his wife in Geneva.
The pics are from the friday
Beer and warhammer - perfick!
Friendly game against my bro:
Richard Simms awesome Admech (Genestealer dex) army - and groin...
More pics tomorrow!

Im still here!! - Nearly finished decorating and I can hobby splurge!
Wooo as the title, we have been busy prepping the house to put on the market so my hobby time has really been suffering!
I have decided I am sick of my Orks, Im taking a half arsed list to UK GT thats a real do or die'er. Im sick of looking at the half baked paint job I gave them and have decided although I have a huge army painted which is great, Im never going to that again. I putting everything into my painting from now on.
I also have a load of Khorne Daemons sat waiting to be used. I got deflated with them because I spent a lot of time converting and building the metal bloodcrushers only for GW to swing a suprise release of plaggy ones 6 months later - ouuuch!
A year on and I have decided to just sod it and get 9 plaggy ones - so I will soon be play testing the Daemons and building them up with the CSM for my collective Khorne army known as 'The Thirst".
Here is my daemon list, I have an option to swap out a couple of things to use a Bloodthirster and if I need 1750, I will add another squad of Blood letters....

More CSM Built!
OK, been a bit slow this week, we are decorating the house! :( But I managed to get this Defiler built (I still have another and debating a massive conversion mixed with the new spider model - but also debating how that will work and fit into my army).
I repositioned the leg ends to get a more dynamic pose than the standard issue one. Damn this is a nice model, and only a few more points that a dred, I prefer this!
and some more zerkers built... been really trying to make cool poses. I break and reglued the legs on this one. Sometimes I need to GS the ribbing on the legs or arms depending on pose.

Chaos Lord - Streaming banner update
Well, I really appreciated the crit and I think the streaming banners are really effective as they are adding movement to the model...
Not sure, I think I might add a couple to the Jugga...???

1750pts Tourny list
Hi
Right I have made my list. Its not out and out competitive and Im sure there are more competitive builds. But I think it will hold its own if I use it correctly.
Its more to fit with my army fluff... which I will go into at a later date, but for now all you need to know is its a fleet based Khorne army that is made up piratical traitors who want to be blessed into the the main central beacon ship. Thats why you see an element of CSM and not just Bezerkers as to be labotimised the CSM would need to granted into the beacon ship where a large but not completely World Eater force operates. I will go into more detail later along with the fleets name.

Chaos Lord - Again! Sorry! But better pics, I need crit!
OK, your all probably sick of looking at this, but its the centre piece to the army and I want it perfect, or at least as perfect as I can get it.
I love the over sized banner, but if the overall census is that its stupid, I'll change it. I do want this model to be over the top, but not at the expense of it looking good or not. Oh and Dont worry my blogging be lessened this week while I glue the rest of the army up - I promise!
Im propping up the Jugga foot with some cork, it will be more on it's hind legs when I secure it.
