This is now matt varnished and based.... Im not to keen on the base and am waiting for Shane to point it out! I just think its a bit bland. Anyway Im pleased with how it's come out and cant wait to have a fully painted Cryx army. Hope you like.
Oh and got these cool skull beads to use as focus markers, very fitting for pirates!

My First Warmachine Paint job! WOOOYA
Yo
Really pleased with this, straight forward to paint.
And I learnt something - I HATE BATCH PAINTING
Painting my Orks was a really horrible battle of time management whereas this was a nice experience where I could pull the most of what I could do. I have found areas of improvement also which now serves as an incentive as opposed to the excuse of I have loads to paint - that's why its a bit shit...

Started my Starter set!! (Cryx)
I decided to use my new expensive airbrush with these... big mistake! The thing keeps clogging and thats with pure AB cleaner before I put any paint through it.
So I went back to my old one and adjusted the air pressure really low and layered the grey to white. I used the Vallejjo air paints... so easy not having to mix and using the dropper bottle to use exactly how much you need.
This is the base phase, I will be glazing with really thin coats of black ink or wash - not decided yet... would get more done but the weather is gorg, so drinking beer and sunning myself! lol
(I have a delivery coming in the next couple of days, Im soo excited! uh aaar me harties...)

Lich Lord Terminus! One Hell of a Metal Kit!!
Well what can i say, my first bit of hobbying for nearly 4 months! As you may have seen from my other posts I have been getting into Warmachine. Im really starting to get into this now and I think Im going to with a Terminus Tier list.... basically a controlled themed list to the non PP people. The theme - Undead Pirates... yup awesome!
Anyway this kit Terminus... I warn anyone this model is not for the faint hearted. You have to pin EVERYTHING! It has really small contact points in some places and its really heavy. This took me 5 hours to build in two installments. I used brush on super glue for maximum control and floristry wire for pins. The effort in my opinion was worth it, and actually the model is really welly balanced, I dont think it will topple over easily and actually seems really sturdy.
A lot of fiddly bitz!:
As you can see - a nice huge model! Well worthy!! I present Lich Lord Terminus!:
Just need to go round with some GS to fill some holes.
My Tier list looks like this, I may get some Bane thralls as well and swap out the Bloodgorgers....
50 pts
Lich Lord Terminus
Deathripper
Deathripper
Harrower
Leviathan
Blackbane's Ghost Raiders (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Bloodgorgers (Leader and 5 Grunts)
Revenant Crew (Leader and 9 Grunts)
Captain Rengrave
General Gerlak Slaughterborn
Next up this weekend is painting the starter set whilst watching the Grand Prix....

Can anyone comment on this Cryx list?
Yo!
I had my first taster game of Warmachine last night and having only ever played 40k and some spec games before was a massive move for me. I found the game in depth. You have a lot to remember with your own army. So I really want to know my first army like the back of my hand!
I have used the online army list maker (here) to make this list, with only a very basic knowledge of rules and fluff. I don't understand the tier system, but anywho this is tier 1!
I would like to have my list sorted so I can really get to know my army as I'm learning as I'm a pretty basic individual and it will help me use the army better.
I went for a pirate theme, but I preferred the look of the ghost raiders over the revenant crew. I'm down with pirates and I'm all for just picking an army you like the look of, but if you get a dud list it can be frustrating and costly in time and money. I'm sure I will adjust anyway and buy more things, but it would be nice to collect and paint this army as I learn - instead of the buy everything first. Also I guess if I'm not liking the way the army is heading I can change it without having to overhaul a load of minis... anywho less patter...
Terminus - The Ghost Fleet
Lich Lord Terminus (*4pts) (got)

Another Open Letter to GW (that I happen to agree with - its not to ranty)
Im not one for these kind of things, as I think if you dont like a product or whatever just dont buy etc, etc. But whats interesting is that what he is saying fits with what I am doing without me giving it to much thought. I have bought into WM, but really I have stopped buying much wargaming stuff generally because I dont like whats happening at GW. Mainly because I really only have time to play one system really which is 40k. And lets be honest it is a great system with a cool range of products. By cut down we are probably talking alot of money (up to 4 figures if Im brutely honest) as Im just completing what I have. When I have I will just use that and build my Cryx army... Its bad for the whole market not just gw as I cant see myself building the size of armies for WM as I did with 40k. I have ruled out doing WFB completely. Anyway, I'll stop the guy on the vid says it all really.
Oh I found this vid here on trueminiwargamer

I need a colour scheme!
Yo!
I have ordered the remaining Bloodcrushers I need to complete about 2K Khorne Daemons. I have decided that this is eventually going to be my tourny army Im going to use for some years to come.
Hulls Angels (my local club) are running a "Tale of the X Gamers" combined with a campaign. The idea you start off with 500pts and build up to 1750 in 250 installments. Great idea imo, I really want to get on board and get this army nailed.
You can find my list here "click" its a pretty hard hitting army, short on troop choice, but I have enough stuff to alter the list as I please... maybe add a bloodthirster - drop skulltaker, or drop a soul grinder etc etc.
My problem is why I have never really painted this army is I have never sat happy with a scheme. I dont want devil red skin, it looks to unrealistic imo, I know these are daemons, but I still want them to look like could be real...
Please be aware these are unfinished test pieces and in no way the finished article....
This is my fave.... need to lessen the blood and make it more "clotted"....
Next up are two variations on red. I have maybe gone to subtle and dark... actually I dont know, what I like the best tbh...
If you have any pointers or ideas I would be very grateful, nearly finished my gardening at the new house so will be getting on with these soon, if I could get 500pts done by the 21st July great, but i think im going to have to join this late and do 750pts by August. Will post my 500pt list tonight. I may have to make it so it has a low model count...
OH and I was tempted to get a Finecast Skulltaker to place on the chariot and use the metal one as a normal Skulltaker... but £15 GW? Seriously WTF??? more like Finecost not fine cast!

Where I'm at and App Game Wooo!
Just to let you know Im still here and I will be picking up the hobby again soon with my daemons. The club Hulls Angels is running a campaign based on the tale of X gamers where you build paint and play starting at 500pts building up to 1750. The first 500pts need to be ready by the 21st of July... Im really excited about it and should be a great way to get my stuff done. Im esp looking forward to painting this:
I think Im going to start with the FW herald as my HQ in the 500pts and take as many bloodletters as pos with a couple of BC... see how I get on. I think they wont be to competitive until 1K mark we shall see!
Also - remember the name a game topic, well, the game is up and running so thanks for everyone who voted on a name! check it out!
